Why Soroptimist?

​

Women at their best, working to help other women to be their best!

​

Soroptimist was formed in 1921 in Oakland, California, at a time when  women were not permitted to join service organizations. Our name,  loosely translated from the Latin, means best for women. Today, we have  about 160,000 members and supporters in 21 countries and territories. We  are one of four federations that make up Soroptimist International, which has clubs in more than 120 countries throughout the world.

Soroptimist means "best for women", and our goal is to help women and children in our local community, and in the world at large.  Help us help others!

Attend a meeting - no obligation!  You might just make some new friends and change your community for the better!

Our meetings are held on the Second and Fourth Wednesday of the month at Northridge Country Club at 7600 Madison Ave.  All are welcome to attend.  For membership information, please contact Christine Cao at 916-247-5864.  We look forward to meeting you!
